How to record a scrolling website video: Paste. Pick. Record.
No timeline, no keyframes, no retakes. Three clicks and the film is on your Mac.
Scrolling website videos made with GlidePage: Straight out of the app.
No editing, no after effects. These are exports of real sites, exactly as GlidePage renders them.
Sites shown belong to their owners and were recorded as examples.
Why not just screen record the page? Smooth, not janky.
Scrolling by hand stutters, overshoots and never looks the same twice. GlidePage captures every frame on its own, with a real easing curve. Here are four ways to make a scrolling video of a website, compared.

By hand
Trackpad, a steady hand, and hope.

GlidePage
60 fps, eased, identical every time.
| Method | Smoothness | Sharpness | Live page (animations, sticky headers) | Local and staging sites | Runs on your Mac |

| Screen recording by hand | Depends on your hand and your Mac | Limited to your display | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Panning a full-page screenshot | Smooth | Good | No, it is a flat image | Yes | Yes |
| A web-based generator | Usually smooth | Varies | Varies, some pan a screenshot | No, it cannot reach your machine | No, it renders on a server |

Scroll easing curves, live: Pick a feel. Watch it move.
This is the app's real preview. Six easing curves, pauses where you want them, any speed, every device. Or No motion: the top of the page with its animations playing. What you see here is what you export.
Slow ends, quick middle
4K stills from any point on the page: A sharp shot from anywhere.
Tap the camera, scroll to the good part, tap again. A 4K still of exactly that spot, framed and ready. Try it, or read when a full-page screenshot beats a scrolling video.

Backgrounds, page blur and transparent video: Set the scene. Or leave it out.
An animated material that loops forever, your own page blurred behind the device, any colour or gradient, or a transparent background to drop straight into your edit.

Four materials, six palettes each, at the speed you pick. They loop seamlessly in the export.
Status bar, Safari window and more: The little things, done right.
The details that make an export look finished, without opening an editor.
Status bar colour

Safari window
Wrap a desktop page in a macOS Safari window, with the site's own address in the bar.
Frame a video
Already recorded something? Drop in an MP4 or MOV and put it in any frame, on any background.
Intros play from the start
Animations that run when a site loads start over at the first frame, so the video opens like a first visit.
Grain and shadow
A touch of film grain on the background, and a shadow under the device from none to deep.
Any shape
Follow the device, or pick 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 4:3 for every feed, with the device sized to fit.
iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac frames: Every screen your visitors use.
Real frames in their real colours, with the status bar, the island and the notch in the right place. Or any custom size. Here is how to put a screen recording in an iPhone frame.

GlidePage FAQ: Questions, answered.
What does GlidePage make?
GlidePage is a Mac app that turns any web page into a smooth scrolling video. Paste a link and it opens the page in its own browser, then records it from top to bottom in 4K at 60 fps with a real easing curve, optionally inside a real device frame such as an iPhone, iPad, MacBook or iMac, on a background you pick. It can also take a sharp 4K still from any point on the page, or export with a transparent background for your editing app or website. Everything renders on your Mac.
Does it work on Intel Macs?
Not yet. The first version is for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and newer) on macOS 12 or later. An Intel build is planned.
Is anything uploaded?
No. GlidePage opens the page in its own built-in browser and renders the video on your Mac. There is no account and no cloud processing. The free trial is kept on your Mac. The app checks your license key with Polar, our payment provider, and sends anonymous usage stats, such as whether an export worked, to help improve it; never your pages, links or videos.
Can it record localhost or staging sites?
Yes. Because it runs on your Mac, it can record localhost, your LAN and staging servers, which web-based recorders cannot reach.
Can it record pages behind a login, or pages with popups?
Yes. Take control opens the real page inside the device frame, so you can log in, close a popup or go to the exact page you want, then record: the video keeps that session and page. For a popup or chat bubble that comes back on every load, Hide element keeps it out of the video. Some sign-in providers, such as Google or Apple sign-in, may refuse automated browsers, and links protected by HTTP basic auth are not supported.
Which formats do I get?
MP4 for sharing, PNG stills, PNG or JPEG frame sequences for editors, and with a transparent background, ProRes 4444 MOV for editing apps or VP9 WebM for websites.
Can the background move?
Yes. Page blur puts your own page, blurred, behind the device and moves it with the scroll, so the colours always match. Or pick a material: Liquid metal, Mesh gradient, Silk or Glass caustics, each with six palettes and four speeds, looping seamlessly for the whole video. Prefer it still? Choose from 18 colours, 18 gradients or your own.
Why not just screen record it myself?
Hand scrolling stutters, drops frames and never looks the same twice. GlidePage captures every frame one at a time with a real easing curve, so the result is perfectly smooth at any speed.
How is it different from a web-based generator?
A web-based generator renders the page on its own server, so it cannot reach localhost, your LAN or a staging site, and some of them pan a flat screenshot instead of the live page, which freezes animations and sticky headers. GlidePage records the live page on your Mac, one frame at a time, so animations play, sticky headers stick, and nothing is uploaded.
Can I make videos for Instagram, LinkedIn or X?
Yes. Pick the aspect ratio before you record: 16:9 for YouTube and X, 9:16 for Reels, Stories and TikTok, 1:1 or 4:5 for the Instagram and LinkedIn feed, 4:3, or Auto to match the device. You get an MP4 that uploads anywhere.
How does launch pricing work?
The first 10 buyers pay $7.99, the next 100 pay $14.99, and after that it is $24.99. The price switches by itself as each stage sells out, and you always pay the price shown at checkout. Every price is a one-time purchase with all upcoming updates, so buying early simply costs less.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Download GlidePage and every feature works for 7 days from the first launch, with no card and no account. Trial exports carry a small "captured with GlidePage.app" watermark, which you can resize and restyle but not turn off, and transparent exports need a license. After 7 days you can still open GlidePage and preview pages; recording needs a license key, which also removes the watermark.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once and keep GlidePage, with all upcoming updates.
How do I get GlidePage after buying?
Right after checkout you get your license key on screen and by email, with the download link. Already using the free trial? Click Open in GlidePage on the thanks page, or paste the key under GlidePage → License…, and the watermark goes. New to it? Open the download, drag GlidePage to Applications, open it and paste the key. There is no account to create.
How many Macs can I use it on?
Up to 3 of your own Macs, for example a laptop and a desktop. Moving to a new Mac? Choose Deactivate This Mac in the GlidePage menu on the old one, or remove it in the customer portal linked from your receipt, and activate the new one with the same key.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If GlidePage is not right for you, email support@glidepage.app within 14 days of buying and you get a full refund. Your license key stops working once the refund goes through.
