Privacy policy

GlidePage records websites on your Mac. Your pages, links and videos never leave it. Here is everything that does.

GlidePage and glidepage.app are made by Monish Meher (Meher Technologies), Nuremberg, Germany. Questions about your data go to support@glidepage.app.

The Mac app

Your work stays on your Mac. GlidePage opens the pages you record in its own built-in browser and renders every video, photo and frame on your Mac. The links you paste, the pages you record and the files you export are never uploaded.

License check. To activate GlidePage, the app sends your license key and the name of this Mac (the one set in System Settings, so you can tell your Macs apart) to Polar, our payment provider. It checks the key again about once a day, and tells Polar when you deactivate a Mac. Nothing else goes with it.

Update check. Every few hours the app asks glidepage.app whether a newer version exists. The request carries only the app's version.

Anonymous usage stats. The app sends events such as "an export finished" or "an export failed", with the settings used, the app and macOS versions, the language and the approximate country, to PostHog (EU cloud) under a random id created on first launch. They never include web addresses, host names, file names or your license key. We use them to find bugs and see which features matter.

Payments and license keys

GlidePage is sold through Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar handles checkout, your payment details, receipts and taxes under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and order details from Polar, and never see your full card details.

After checkout, glidepage.app shows your license key for a day, and Polar emails it to you. Your key, receipts and the Macs it is active on are always in the customer portal.

This website

glidepage.app is hosted by Vercel, whose servers log requests (including IP addresses) to run and protect the site. We use PostHog (EU cloud), loaded through our own domain, to count page views and clicks and to record anonymised session replays with every form field masked. The page that shows your license key is never recorded.

Email

If you write to support@glidepage.app, we keep the conversation to answer you and to handle refunds.

Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, by emailing support@glidepage.app.
  • Deactivate a Mac from the GlidePage menu or the customer portal; its name is then removed from your key.
  • Payment data held by Polar can be requested from Polar directly.

We will update this page when anything here changes, and change the date at the top.
